Tips: What is the working principle of a vortex flow meter?
At its core, a vortex flow meter utilizes the Kamen vortex principle. When a fluid flows through an obstacle, it creates vortices, called Kamen vortex streets, on either side of the obstacle. The frequency of these vortices is directly proportional to the flow rate, and the flow meter calculates the flow rate of the fluid by detecting the frequency of the vortices. This principle is applicable to the measurement of liquids, gases and vapors and is widely used in industry.
