Tips: Why Is It Necessary to Calibrate the Electrode Regularly?

After a period of use, the pH electrode may show errors in measurement results. To obtain accurate measurements, calibration is required regularly, especially under stringent environmental and precision requirements.

    Calibration Using Standard Buffer Solution:

    1. Pour the appropriate amounts of the 6.86, 4.01 (at 25°C) standard buffer solutions into separate clean and dry beakers.
    2. To ensure accurate calibration, use two beakers for each type of buffer solution: one for washing the electrode and the other for holding the buffer solution. This helps minimize contamination of the buffer solution.
    3. Press the "ON/OFF" button to power on the device.
    4. Place the electrode into the standard buffer solution, gently stir, and wait for the readings to stabilize. Press the "CAL" button, and the instrument will automatically enter calibration mode, with the reading fluctuating until the display matches the calibration value. Once stabilized, calibration is complete.

Calibration Using Pure Water (pH 7 Value):

    1. To ensure accurate calibration, use two beakers: one for rinsing the electrode with pure water and the other for holding the pure water solution.
    2. Press the "ON/OFF" button to power on the device.
    3. For calibration, immerse the electrode in pure water, press and hold the "TCAL" button. When 6.86 flashes on the screen, the device will automatically enter calibration mode. The number will stabilize after the automatic process completes, and the display will show 6.86, indicating successful calibration.
