Tips: What is an impact socket?

Impact socket is mainly used with pneumatic impact wrenches, manual wrenches and hydraulic wrenches to tighten or loosen screws or nuts. The impact socket are commonly used in automobile maintenance, electrical maintenance, mineral maintenance, etc. Impact sockets are mainly used on pneumatic impact wrenches.

One end of impact socket is used for the connection with the nut, and most common end is 6-point socket with a shape of regular hexagon. The other end of the regular hexagon is used to connect the pneumatic impact wrench. The often mentioned 1/2”, 1/4”, 3/8”, etc. refer to the length of the side line of the square hole at this end. 1/2 inch is approximately equal to 12.7mm, 1/4 inch is approximately equal to 6.35mm, and 3/8 inch is approximately equal to 9.5 mm.
