    How to operate a wood density meter?

    1. Prepare instruments and samples. Ensure that the timber densitometer has been correctly installed and calibrated. Prepare the wood sample to be tested, ensuring that the surface of the sample is clean and free of impurities.
    2. Measure air weight. Place the sample on the air dried material weighing platform of the densitometer, and record the weight of the sample in air (W1) after the value stabilizes. 
    3. Measure weight in water. Immerse the sample in water, use a basket or anti floating frame to prevent the sample from floating, and record the weight of the sample in water (W2) after the value stabilizes.
    4. Calculate density. The wood densitometer will automatically calculate the density of the sample based on Archimedes' principle.
    5. Special treatment. For wood with a density less than 1, wax sealing may be necessary to prevent the sample from absorbing water. Measure the weight of air and water again after sealing the wax.
    6. Record and analyze. Record the measurement results and analyze or compare them as needed.

    Tip: During the measurement process, it is necessary to ensure the stability of the water temperature and avoid the influence of temperature changes on the measurement results. In addition, depending on the specific type of wood and measurement requirements, different measurement modes and calculation methods may need to be selected.
