Fixed Ultrasonic Flow Meter Transducer Installation
1. Choosing right installation position
- When installing the transducer, the piping must have a straight section of sufficient length, the longer the better. It is generally recommended that the length of the straight section of pipe upstream is 10 times the diameter of the pipe, downstream is 5 times the diameter of the pipe, and the length from the pump port should be 30 times the diameter of the pipe. At the same time, make sure that the liquid in the section of pipe is in a full state to ensure the accuracy of the measurement.
- Ensure that the temperature of the pipe being measured is within the operating range of the sensor, which should normally be in a room temperature environment. The corrosion and scaling of the pipe also needs to be considered. Ideally, it is recommended that a newer pipe be selected for measurement. If deteriorated pipe must be used, the pipe wall thickness should be reduced to account for the degree of corrosion, or scaling should be treated as if the pipe were lined.
2. Transducer installation method
- Z-type installation: Generally applicable to pipes with a diameter greater than DN100mm.
- V-type installation: Generally applicable to pipes of DN20-300mm.
- W-type installation: Generally applicable to pipes of DN10-100mm.
ATTENTION: * The installation distance is shown after entering the pipe parameters into the ultrasonic flow meter.
Fixed Ultrasonic Flow Meter Applications
Tips: Can fixed ultrasonic flow meters be used for high or low temperature fluids?
Yes, fixed ultrasonic flowmeter can be used for high or low temperature fluid measurement. Different models of ultrasonic flowmeter have their own temperature operating range, usually the standard model can be in -30°C to 160°C range of work. If you need to measure the extreme temperature of the fluid, such as higher than 160°C or lower than -30°C liquid or gas, it is recommended to choose a special model with a high-temperature or low-temperature sensor to ensure the accuracy of the measurement and the service life of the equipment.
