Tips: Why the floor jack cannot reach the maximum height or be lifted?
Solution 1: Check whether the oil drain valve is completely closed (whether the drain valve handle is fully tightened).

Is it necessary to keep the outside of the jack handle away from the car?

No, sir. The handle can be placed flat on the ground and sometimes it is easier to release it when it is parallel to the ground. The jack can be released without lifting the handle. The handle can be located in any position to lower the car (turn the handle counterclockwise to lower it).
